Curee was started by a hospitalist and an infrastructure engineer who met at a hackathon in 2022. The hospitalist had been staying late three nights a week to finish documentation; the engineer had spent the last six years building data pipelines at a payer.
They shipped a documentation-automation prototype in a weekend and ran it against deidentified notes from the hospitalist's shift. It cut her queue by forty percent.
The company exists because that demo worked.
